After a recurring dream, a lonely girl who lives in one of the most violent cities in the world, decides to create a timeless monument for civilians who died due to confrontations caused by organized crime (NARCO), facing the risk of becoming one more of the victims. "The girl with the flags" is a contemplative short film that seeks to create a reflection on; loneliness, death, immortality and sacrifice.

Director Biography - Rogelio Meléndez

Rogelio Meléndez (Reynosa, México 1988) is a multidisciplinary visual artist. His work has been shown in individual and collective exhibitions as in House of Culture Cusco in Cusco (Peru 2016), The Museum of Contemporary Art Alfredo Zalce de Morelia (Mexico 2016), the International Video Art Festival "PROYECTOR" (Spain 2018), the 18th International Electronic Language Festival "FILE" (Brazil 2017), the Cultural Institute of Mexico in France (France 2015), among others. He was also the winner of the Fray Andrés Award Olmos:
Young Highlights (Mexico 2018), beneficiary of the Stimulus to Creation Program and Artistic Development 22 "PECDA 22" in the category of "Young Creators" (Mexico 2017), and prize of Acquisition of the "Las Fronteras" Biennial (Mexico 2014).
