Director Biography - Marcus Silva

Born in Campo Grande/MS/Brazil, before launching himself professionally in the audiovisual world, the author studied Law School and worked for some years as a lawyer and judicial mediator.
Determined to embrace his artistic streak and pursue a new career, he moved to Lisbon in 2018, enrolling in a photography and visual culture course.
After a year in that course, he decided to change his educational institution, and enter the field of cinema and moving image, at which time he joined at Ar.Co - Center of Visual Arts and Communication.
In 2020, he made his first experimental school-short film based on the film “At Land”, by Maya Deren, which received the name “Darkland”. The film was selected for the festivals “Lisbon Film Rendezvous”, “The Lift-Off Sessions” and “First Time Filmmaker Sessions”.
Also in 2020, he presented his film “No.”, at FUSO – Video Art Festival, and the film “Quarentine”, at the session “Ante-Estreias”/Films from Ar.Co School, at Cinemateca Portuguesa.
