The aesthetics of modernism

"The Aesthetics of Modernism" is a personal documentary about architecture, art and the dream of creating an equal world of social engineering.
In the film we get to meet other painters, politicians and last but not least architects. The film is played in a postmodern Sweden with a retrospect on architecture from the 60s and 70s.
   The film "The Aesthetics of Modernism" has been in my mind since 1980. That's when I first saw Ronny Hard's suburban images. I visited an art exhibition at the Ystad Art Museum and Ronny's painting struck me like a flash.
   The motif was familiar to me.
   It was the buildings I had lived in, the balcony I had stood on, and the window I had looked out through. I knew then that I had to make a movie about the painting.
   The fact that it took me almost 40 years to go from thought to action tells a lot about me as a filmmaker. I don't hurry - take my time.

I have worked in film & television since 1983. The first years as an editor and then as a director. Over the years I have done from documentaries and fiction to commercials and informational films. Today, I make non-commercial documentaries based on topics that personally interest me.
