Harsha Jayaweera is a university student who has been directing, concept developing & director of photography in short films since 2020.
The short film βThe Whistling Kettleβ is based on the theme of domestic violence. As the director of the film, I want the audience to feel the fear of a woman who faces her husbandβs abusive behavior in her daily life.
Here I use a loop of the same scene to show that the woman faces the same situation regularly. I used a single character, "The Mother," and the shadow of the man with no dialogue. I believe it will allow the audience to connect with the film through their own experiences.
