An old farmer has been abandoned by the society in a ‘corner’. This only corner that makes his life meaningful is facing being taken over. Stubborn and insignificant as he is, he will not surrender and will hold up his weapon to fight against the torrent of times.

Director Biography - Guoxin Wang


I was born and raised up in a Chinese village. I found myself fascinating with painting while I was studying in high school. By chance, I encountered with filmmaking and I decided to be a film director since my desire to storytelling and visual presentation. Hence, I majored in film production designing in Xi'an Academy of Fine Art and Contemporary Art Practice in Bathspa University, then Film and Television in Savanah Collage of Art and Design for master degree after two years of working in professional filmmaking crews as a production designer. and I have been working as a TV commercial director right now in China and hoping to find more chances to write and direct another narrative films.

Director Statement

Set in modern time in a rural area of China, This film is a nostalgic film that argues the idea Chinese elderly have mo choice but to accept being obsolete in society under the surging tide of the times. This film will depict an old Chinese peasant in a dilapidated village in the rural areas of China to showcase the generation that suffered the most throughout modern Chinese history. It follows a farmer's journey to find his sense of worth among the fast-changing society that they are not capable catching up to.
