The Weight of Ashes

On July 20th, 2018, building 500 of the Iconic Villages Apartment Complex was set on fire. Within a minute, The building was completely engulfed in flames, resulting in the deaths of Haley Frizzell, David Ortiz, Dru Estes, Belinda Moats, and James Miranda and the permanent disfiguration of Zachary Sutterfield. To this day, the arsonist has not been identified. The Weight of Ashes seeks to explore the depth of grief felt by the families of the victims, guided by Haley Frizzell's brother, the director of the documentary.

Director Biography - Brian Kyle Frizzell

Brian Kyle "B.K." Frizzell grew up in Texas, splitting his childhood between Texas City in the east, and San Angelo in the West. He is one of the first graduates of Texas State University's film program and remains in close contact with the network that he built there. He is a multi-award winning director and writer and recently moved to Los Angeles to pursue his passion of filmmaking.
