Director Biography - Pau Ortiz Rosell

Pau Ortiz Rosell is a director, editor, and professor of documentary film. He holds a degree in film and audiovisuals from ESCAC (Spain, 2004-2008), specializing in documentary. He has also studied Process-Oriented Psychology (2011-2018) and Narrative Practices (2022-2025).

He is a co-founder of the production company INTACTES, based in Barcelona and Mexico, focused on making documentaries for social change from a cinematographic approach and with social impact strategies.

He has received more than forty nominations at international festivals and eight first prizes, including the award for Best International Documentary at the Hot Docs festival in Canada and the Golden Hugo for Best Documentary at the Chicago International Festival.

Pedagogically, he has taught documentary film direction at ESCAC in Spain (2017-2019), ESCINE in Mexico City (2019-2022), and at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, where he has been conducting intensive seminars annually since 2019.

He currently resides in La Paz, Baja California Sur, where he has focused on environmental issues and the destructive impact of traditional male roles on men.
