The Victors

A British intelligence officer volunteers for a mission behind Italian enemy lines to prove he is more than an anonymous intelligence clerk in the eyes of his estranged father and cowardly colleagues. Shot down, his mission a failure and now on the run in German occupied rural Italy, Charlie’s thrown into a cauldron of horror. Nazi forces hunt him down as they carry out terrible and savage reprisals on the local Italian populace and partisan movement before Allied forces can reach them.

Charlie discovers everything his training and intelligence work wrong footed him, that his Allied masters care little for the locals, realising he’s nothing more than a pawn in a larger game he has little control over. To survive, Charlie must learn to put his trust in strangers to maybe do some small good on his own terms, to win a small battle of his own.
