Haiping Liu, male, born in August 1966, graduated from the Department of Cinematography at the Beijing Film Academy. He is a Chinese director and cinematographer, who has previously won the Jury Prize at the China International Documentary Film Selection Committee. His notable work includes "China Is Far Away."
In July 2014, Chinese documentary filmmaker Haiping Liu presented him with the Order of Knight of the Star of Italy and a certificate issued by the President of Italy in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the cultural exchange of film and television between China and Italy. This is the first time that a Chinese director has won the award.
