The Unspeakable Thing

The Unspeakable Thing is an arthouse short film which seeks to capture the essence of intimacy in its various forms and the inherent obstacles which stand in its path. Everyday we are presented with a regurgitated paradigm of the ideal but what happens when we peek below the surface into the spaces and silences, into the weirdness and awkwardness of intimacy? This film is an expression of the human desire for sharing a profound connection with someone or something and the ways in which this can be warped by fantasy, memory, the ego and the possibility of another life. Presented in a non-linear montage of scenarios, some more realistic than others and some taking on qualities of the surreal, we learn that the things we want most in life are the hardest truths to swallow.
