The Unsent Letter
The film is about a girl named Tua, in her early thirty's, of Bengali origin. She was raised by her grandmother. Since the age of five, she has been staying abroad with her parents. After so many years, she comes back to her ancestral home in Kolkata, learning her Thhamma (grandmother) 's demise.
The story revolves around her. She explores the house from one corner to the other and frantically searches for her precious memories. Though faded, she finds some relics of the past. Through this unsent letter, she grasps at these fleeting memories until they become indelibly etched upon her consciousness. Tua slowly discovers herself in one with her last attachment, her Thhamma (grandmother).

“The Unsent Letter” came to me as a concept. At first, it was just a character exploring her ancestor’s home after staying for many years abroad. However, more I thought about the story; more I realized that it has a significant similarity to my own experience. I was born in a South Asian country but raised in the West. All of a sudden, I became Tua, and this character walked me through my memory lane. This film was made from some personal feelings, experiences, and deeper emotional connections. This is not just a story but an experience of pure human emotions tied to his/her roots. No matter how far one can go, he/she always desires to come back to where their soul relies upon.
