The Unexpected

Leesa Ashley's start in acting began with training via some of Baltimore's most noted and successful theatre's including one of the oldest continually performing and historically African-American community theatre's in Baltimore, Maryland, Arena Players Inc. . From there she began performing on stage in her hometown of Baltimore as well as in several traveling stage productions throughout the East Coast. With her professional theatre background in tact, Leesa did background work on several shows including VEEP & House of Cards. Her skills lead her to The Baltimore Filmmakers Collective which is founded by Eric Cotten where she worked hard to up the ante on her contributions to the filmmaking community both local and national. She acted in several more shorts including the film festival selected The Love Within which she earned a co-creator title. Leesa's acting has since appeared in several shorts on local film festival circuits. However, it is her first written and directed project, The Unexpected, that gives her the most excitement and finally helps her find her place in the world of story telling and filmmaking!
