Director Biography - Fatemeh Fereydoun

Fatemeh Fereydoun, born in February 1992. Her passion for the arts led her to the University of Tehran, where she excelled in her Master's program in Directing, securing a remarkable 6th rank in the entrance examination.

Fatemeh's professional career blossomed in both theater and cinema. As a director, she has helmed six theater productions, including notable works like "Satin's Island. Her cinematic achievements are equally impressive, with three films to her credit like “The Turtle” and “Camion,”.

Her commitment to the arts extends beyond directing, as evidenced by her four-year tenure as an educator at Iran's premier private theater institute: Barg. Fatemeh's expertise in both theater and cinema has enriched her teaching, inspiring a new generation of artists.

In addition to her directorial and teaching roles, Fatemeh is also known for her innovative contributions to the arts community. She has skillfully designed and produced art residencies, including the "Director's Toolbox" and the "Actor's Backpack," blending practical skills with creative exploration.

Fatemeh Fereydoun's journey in the arts is a testament to her dedication, creativity, and influential presence in the world of theater and cinema.

Director Statement

"The turtle" is a 15-minute short film that explores the theme of migration within the framework of a love story. It is created with all professional Iranian cinema crew members both behind and in front of the camera. The film is produced under the label "Fate Art" and has recently commenced its worldwide distribution.
