Marco La Gala was born in 1983 in Naples. At 23 he moved to France and studied cinema at the University of Paris VIII. In 2013 he made his first documentary, the medium film "In The Land of Fires", where he tells the story of a small neapolitan social cooperative that, opposing the illegal waste disposal and the abandonment of agricultural land in the province of Naples, will rediscovering the local peasant culture and popular traditions. "The Tree Climber" is his second documentary film: set in the South Italy, it tells of the challenge between two boys for the most prestigious role of the village ritual.
