Synopsis: Thane is blessed with a magnificent Thane Creek that is 26 km. long. The Creek supports a unique biodiversity of flora & fauna. Due to population explosion & indiscipline, various types of pollutants are dumped into the creek polluting it. This documentary portrays the solutions Thane citizens implemented at grassroot level to manage & treat the residential solid waste and sewage at source, to reduce the pollution in the creek. It also portrays the effort taken by Enviro Vigil’s ‘Clean Creek Movement’ to spread awareness among people of all social classes to stop putting garbage in the Creek & motivates people to work towards the betterment of the Creek.

Director Biography - Sudeshna Puntambekar

I am Sudeshna Puntambekar. I did graduation in B.F.A.(Bachelor Of Fine Arts-Specilization-Exhibition Display And Design) & Post Graduation Diploma in Art Direction & Production Design from Film & Television Institute Of India (FTII, Pune, Maharashtra, India). FTII is one of the top 10 film schools in the world. Art Direction involves set designing/ set decoration/designing the overall background/environment/visual look for movies /ad films/museum design etc. after research, drawings, sketches on the subject according to the film script. Being an alumna of FTII, I am also passionate about film making. I worked as a freelancing assistant art director in Mumbai, freelancing documentary filmmaker, newsletter editor & designer, consultant of documentary films on environment for film festivals conducted by NGO’s that deal with environment issues. Environment education & conservation is one of her subject of interest, hence I try to portray this in my documentary films.
