Valerie Smaldone, a multiple award winning former radio and television host, interviewer, actor and audio producer has directed her first feature film with The Thursday Night Club. She has interviewed thousands of celebrities for radio, television and live events, including Elton John, Paul McCartney, Cyndi Lauper and Rod Stewart. Proficient at extracting other people's stories, she wanted to find a new way to tell a compelling story, thus entered the world of narrative in feature film. Wanting to share a beautiful, inspiring message, Valerie was drawn to the themes in The Thursday Night Club, and was thrilled to helm this film.
"Having experienced the worldwide pandemic, and strife in our country and around the world, I truly believe that people need and want to see goodness again. The Thursday Night Club is about looking out for others, finding ways to make a difference through kindness projects, and ultimately following signs that are around us, put forth from God. With one story arc centering around bone marrow donation, we have partnered with Be the Match, the national bone marrow registry to help spread the word. We are committed to doing good through this film, and perhaps even starting a movement to inspire others to do their own kindness projects." Valerie Smaldone, director, The Thursday Night Club
