The Three Americas
The Three Americas is an educational audiovisual series focusing on the music, art, and philosophy of Latin America, Hispanic America, and the Caribbean. These videos, designed for the web, are part of a production by the Institute of Research in Art at the University of Costa Rica. The project explores the musical developments over five centuries in this region of the world: Latin America. The audiovisuals are part of a larger project that includes 42 radio programs, 20 audiovisual pieces, and 20 Latin American stories. On this page, three audiovisuals are presented, each addressing different themes: Retablo de Coricancha, A propósito de entender Primero sueño by Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, and Popol Vuh by Alberto Ginastera, an Argentine composer.

Ekaterina Chatski, a musicologist and pianist, is a producer of cultural programs on Radio Universidad de Costa Rica (2-45; What Hides in the Scores; In the Composer's Words; Music in Our America). She is also the co-author of several books dedicated to Costa Rican academic music: DEL PRESENTE AL PASADO CERCANO. MÚSICA ACADÉMICA COSTARRICENSE (FROM PRESENT TO RECENT PAST. COSTA RICAN ACADEMIC MUSIC)(SIEDIM, UCR 2012); BENJAMÍN GUTIÉRREZ. LA MÚSICA ES MI DESTINO (BENJAMIN GUTIERREZ. MUSIC IS MY DESTINY (SIEDIM, UCR 2016).
Graduate of a Master's degree in Music from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, and a Master's degree in Art from the University of Costa Rica.
