The Sun Set Slow (on April 11th 2020)
An extra slow sunset in the first month of the global pandemic.
A film about the perception of time in the confusing time of shutdowns and quarantine. A very conceptual movie. Art in itself.
In the year 2024 it becomes very clear that time has sped up again and we are moving in a very scary direction. The world is burning. We are losing jobs and autonomy to Artificial Intelligence. Climate change is realer than ever.
It is time for reflection and contemplation. Or is it too late already?

Never afraid to shake the tree, Piek made a one shot film in slow motion of a seemingly random sunset in the second month of the global pandemic. Before the half of March, the calendar of Piek worked like the game tetris: it wasn't easy but everything seemed to fit. Just a month in the quarantine, there was only emptiness. The beach was the only place to be unafraid and free. Instead of speeding up time and making a stop motion, Piek decided to slow down time and give room for remembering and contemplation now that the world is moving as fast in a scary direction as before.
