How To Apply (scroll down to the FAQ section to find out how we judge your application):
--If you have trouble submitting any of the materials, you can email them to firstname.lastname@example.org
-Submit first 20 pages of best writing sample in PDF format only - (please do not submit more than 20 pages)
-TWO loglines: one logline for the presented 20-page writing sample AND a logline for the new project the writer intends to work on while on the retreat. The Story Farm suggests that you work on a brand new project while on the retreat.
-One-page bio/artistic statement: please reference why you intend to work on the new proposed project and how it fits within your artistic vision and voice.
-A list/resume of any and all screenwriting, industry, or educational accolades – from contest wins and placements, to secured representation or produced material, or even industry jobs like Jack Nicholson’s personal assistant, or Writer’s Assistant to Joss Whedon. “Educational accolades” could be as simple as “BA from NYU, Tisch School of the Arts”, or as complex as a Nobel Prize in Literature.
If you have never written a screenplay before, this retreat will be a little overwhelming, but we welcome first-time writers if they are ready and willing to dive in to the education process and work hard. If there is not a writing sample available, the writer must explain this within his/her one-page story bio.
