'Splinter' is a short film by The Stone Souls about finding your own path in a hectic world.
A journey from the Los Angeles urban jungle through the Southwest, accompanied by the sound of The Stone Souls.
The screenplay and music were written by Theodor Versteegen, songwriter and composer for the Dutch band The Stone Souls. The short film is produced as part of a social program aimed at discussing and supporting the emotional well-being of teenagers and young adults in the Netherlands.
'Splinter' was filmed in California, Arizona, and Utah (USA) and produced in the Netherlands. Actress Alina Lee plays the main character and also serves as the narrator and co-writer of the screenplay. The band The Stone Souls wrote and recorded the original soundtrack in the Netherlands to guide and serve the film’s needs. The project is supported by VSB Fonds, DRU Cultuurfabriek, Jong & Meer, and De Leefbaarheids Alliantie. 'Splinter' premiered on Friday, September 13, 2024, in a sold-out theater at DRU Cultuurfabriek in Ulft, NL.
