Former stockbroker Charlie Winner (Grimme Prize winner Oliver
Korittke) lands through his alcohol-soaked quest for
happiniess as a homeless man on a parkbench in Berlin.
Tired of homeless life in Germany, he leaves for Biarritz, in
southwestern France, on the Atlantic Ocean. Through this
paradisiacal and above all sport affine place on earth, he
suddenly starts to do sport by himself. His combination of
sport and alcohol motivates the other homeless men of Biarritz
to join him. Quickly Charlie is nicknamed the Sport Bum. But
will his new motto “no home no dime just sport and wine“ help
him to finally find happiness too?
