The Space In Between

The Space In Between is a slice of life suspenseful drama of a young painter, Umair, as he struggles to sell his work in the aftermath of covid-19 pandemic. When Umair is presented with an opportunity to get his name up in a big exhibition, he is asked to finish the work in a very short time to get selected. As he tries to overcome a major creative block, the story takes an unexpected turn and re-surfaces the deepest wound from his past relationship.

Director Biography - Raj Kunwar Singh

Raj Kunwar Singh is a cinephile filmmaker influenced by the visionary works of Christopher Nolan and François Truffaut. Raj developed a keen understanding of the craft of filmmaking by working as a director's assistant on two internationally recognized documentaries. Passionate about art films, he combines meticulous attention to detail with a desire to push the boundaries of storytelling. His debut film is a suspenseful drama and uses elements of realism to showcase the true struggles of a modern day artist in the post pandemic era.

Director Statement

After working on several documentaries as a creative associate, I felt it was necessary to bring out a realist film in a world recovering from Covid19, that aptly shows the creative blocks and challenges that an artist has to overcome in order to sustain himself.
