Cauê Pereira has been working in the audiovisual market for over 15 years, with experience in Advertising, Cinema, TV, and Digital Content. He has held roles as a director, assistant director, editor, and filmmaker, building a diverse and award-winning career.**
He directed and edited the web series “The Sound of Your Voice,” released on the Feliz 7 Play channel, which has over 970,000 subscribers on YouTube and has surpassed 100,000 views. The production was recognized with the Brazilian Digital Production Incentive Award at Rio Webfest 2024.
As an assistant director, he participated in dozens of commercials for brands such as Stella Artois, Natura, Mercedes-Benz, McDonald's, Nestlé, and many others. He also contributed to TV productions, including the series “Adotada” (MTV) and “Na Mira do Crime” (Fox/Record), as well as several short and feature films.
Passionate about cinema and storytelling, Cauê is always seeking new references and creative challenges.
Directing this web series was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career, both professionally and personally.
With my background as an assistant director, I’ve always known that filmmaking is a collective art form, and this project reaffirmed that belief.
Throughout the directing process, I aimed to bring out the best in every department by fostering an environment of listening, exchange, and mutual learning. Despite working with a small technical crew, the dedication and professionalism of everyone involved were instrumental in achieving the final result.
Building relationships with the cast was another highlight. It was inspiring to observe the individual interpretations each actor brought to their character. My role as a director was to guide when necessary and, above all, maintain an open dialogue to promote a genuine exchange between the direction and the cast.
Regarding references and inspirations, I drew elements from European and Brazilian cinema that I admire. I avoided sticking to a single approach: sometimes the camera was on a tripod, other times handheld, always driven by the narrative intention. For me, more important than the form was ensuring the message resonated with the audience authentically and engagingly.
The series touches on several genres, including drama, comedy, action, and romance. A significant challenge was maintaining narrative unity amidst these transitions. I found inspiration in filmmakers who, in my view, successfully navigate different genres harmoniously within a single work, such as Kieslowski, Babenco, Spielberg, and others.
