Director Biography - USMAN OGUNLADE

Usman Olarotimi Ogunlade, known professionally as Director Blackky, is a prominent Nigerian filmmaker renowned for his meticulous craftsmanship and innovative storytelling. With a background in Mechanical Engineering from the Prestigious The Polytechnic Ibadan, he pivoted to filmmaking in 2008 at Empire Entertainment. Initially an actor, he featured in Nowhere to be Found, Two Sides of a Coin, Face2Face, and Ori Olokun.e.t.c. Transitioning to directing, Usman honed his expertise across various production roles, contributing to notable works such as The Bargain, RANTI, Red Button, Ajoche, Riona, Halita, Anikulapo (the movie), Itura (Best Series AMVCA 2024) CheckOut, SIN, Cheta'M among others.

His recent acclaimed work includes the cinematic project Blacksmith (Alagbẹdẹ).

He is also the founder/convener of the ÌBÀDÀN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.

As the story unfolds, the audience will be left questioning what really happened to our protagonist - was she killed, kidnapped, or used for rituals? The uncertainty will linger, much like the unsettling feeling that we are all vulnerable to the whims of a society that often values tradition over individual freedom.
