The Secret of The River

“River”（The hostess）caused her sister to fall into the water carelessly when playing with her sister by the river before, and from then on it became a secret and pain in her heart. She put letters which her secret in under the tree where she had played with her sister, and received unexpected replies. In the process, she gradually learned to face reality. When communication was interrupted, after feeling confused and helpless, she found herself able to face it alone. And all this happened, has become the secret of the river.

Director Statement

The film takes the death of her sister as a clue and completes a series of events by letter. The whole film highlight the inner world of the protagonist through expression, behavior, letters and so on with no voice . The scene of writing letters at home is dominated by undertones, and the whole film uses deep depth of field to further highlight the inner feelings of the protagonist. The river witnessed everything that happened to the heroine River, all of which became the secret of the river. The secret is a secret that can't be express in words, the river next to it can't expressed in words, so is the heroine River.
