Director Statement

The Runaway was such a dream to work on! Railroading has long been a fascination of mine. I wanted to tell a story here that is almost entirely forgotten in modern times, about the mass-migration of youth via freight trains in the Dust Bowl era, and the hardships they faced. But I also wanted to remind people that no matter how bad things get- even in the darkest and coldest winter, you can still find hope where you least expect it.
