The Rotasia-Story

This ethnographic film deals with a personal experience in a school play. It stands as an example for many other situations that have lead to an inner conflict about my cultural identity.
The film touches on influences of wrong representation and the way German society often sees Muslim counties. If you are familiar with the concept of the single story by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie you will understand what I mean by saying Germany has a single story of predominantly muslim countries. However, that doesn’t the truth about the countries my grandparents are from.

This film was shot and produced during a filmproject by @minorityPoint and the abc Bildungszenturm. It was centred around people living in Germany with an migration background.
