The Repton Festival is an emerging UK Arts Festival held at the historic Repton School, which cemented its place in cinema history as the location of the 1939 Oscar winning film Goodbye Mr. Chips. It has launched numerous talents in their successful careers since then.

The Film festival was inaugurated in 2022 and includes screenings, workshops, Q&A sessions, and guest talks featuring a wealth of industry veterans.

This year the festival has responded to filmmakers by focussing on the Student, Drama and International categories. Each category has a £250 winner award and additionally there is a £500 Best Picture award. Success is also recognised with the award of an Archie named after the famous stone arch at Repton School, and the opportunity to undertake a three day shoot with all equipment provided free of charge under the supervision of the filmfest sponsor The University of Derby (Terms & Conditions apply). Whilst travel and subsistence costs are specifically excluded every effort will be made to enable the winner to benefit from this prize.

The festival is a great opportunity to network with industry professionals, meet likeminded creatives, and relax within one of the most beautiful and historically significant villages in the United Kingdom.

The Repton Festival invites you to submit your work for consideration by our panel of experienced industry professionals, with a winner for each competition category to be presented at the awards ceremony on the evening of Sunday 15th October.

The Repton Festival is particularly keen to celebrate Diversity amongst filmmakers at the level of race, gender, sexuality, identity, and religion.

But that's not all!

The Grand Prize winner will have the extraordinary opportunity to undertake a three-day shoot in Derbyshire, UK completely equipped with all the necessary gear (including Arri Alexa’s, Red Epic’s, Kino Flow lighting rigs, and industry standard edit suites) FREE OF CHARGE!

A reasonable estimate of the commercial value of this prize is £30,000 – it’s your chance to bring your vision to life without any financial burdens! (Terms & Conditions apply).

A well presented film festival. The Festival Director Tom Craig is excellent and his passionate uplifting opening speech about independent film makers set the tone for a plethora of superb films that were screened. The Festival is enhanced by generous prize money for award winning films and a celebrity guest presenting the awards and official selection certificates.

Thank you for having me at your Filmfest. Repton filmfest is a full fledged film festival with live screenings of short films in competition in various categories. Selected feature films are also presented with director's Q and A. Special guests from the industry were also present and featured in Q and A panels. The organizers are the best. Really a positive experience. Thank you.
