The Reflected City

In the steamy industrial city, the residents greedily hunt for the creatures that can generate abundant energy as they accidentally come ashore from the sea, and such overexploitation has led the city to be engulfed by dark chaos.

Pier and Two find something strange from the reflection of the city in the sea, so they dive into the sea by a submarine and discover that there is a similar city under the sea, where it carries the fantasy charm of historical and cultural memories. As they have been empowered by the city under the sea, they channel the energy given by the ocean city up to the surface, and the power of rebirth unfolds like a carnival…

Director Statement

The reflection is often full of romantic and vague possibilities. Only those who dive into the beautiful reflection can tell the differences between reality and fantasy. Besides hoping people to face the reality and reflect on themselves, this film aims to encourage people to dream through imagination by the trip under the sea. As the film pays tribute to the French illustrator, Jean-Marc Côté, we shall live in creativity and imagination, cherishing the precious cultural memories and spirits that we once had, and integrating them into our lives, so that we can avoid mechanical life and ponder the meaning of urban development.
