Talia Patterson and Chi Ogbue are producers & puppeteers based out of Los Angeles, California.
Chi is a dedicated TV producer and ally to Jerry, committed to helping sell "Jerry's World" to the world. Deeply ambitious, this tall, 6'6 Nigerian man harbors a desire to become one of the top showrunners in Hollywood, a goal often overlooked by others due to his imposing presence. Despite societal biases, Chi diligently pitches all of his crazy shows to anyone who will listen, working alongside his production team, Lucas Chaves and Talia Patterson. Battling against the perception of not being ready for Hollywood, Chi confronts his biggest challenge everyday: the feeling of being silenced, something he's experienced his entire life. Chi embodies resilience, ambition, and a determination to make his voice heard in the entertainment industry.
Talia, a talented TV producer and Chi's partner, grapples with both her commitment to the show and her personal quest for identity beyond her family's expectations. Inspired by Chi and her own natural gifts, she's motivated to see how far she can go professionally and personally. Internally, she seeks to redefine herself, breaking away from the stifling image her family had imposed on her. Talia navigates Hollywood, struggling against self-doubt about her talents, how she looks and who she is deep down. Talia symbolizes the battle for self-discovery, independence, and the courage to reach beyond limitations.
We're just puppets trying to make it in this world that doesn't even try to understand us. Statement from an African & Woman Director
