The Pack was filmed in one day and edited during the following two weeks. We shot on iPhone in Cumberland, VA at a farm owned by our actor, Jamie, and animal wrangler, Vickie.
The morning of our shoot day, we woke up to 4 inches of snow on the ground (and the roads). We slowly crept down the highway behind plows, from our apartment in downtown Richmond out to the farm. It took twice the time it would on a normal morning. After many phone calls from Jamie and Vickie, being temporarily stranded in a slushy gravel gulch, then being ultimately saved by Jamie and his ATV...we made it to the farm and started rolling.
Working with such a small team, the time limitations, and the weather presented us with a production experience that was a challenging delight - we were able to find triumph in creative solutions around each setback.
