Director Statement

As a film student, teachers always ask us about the meaning behind our works. It is an awkward question because I believe the meaning of a film comes from every viewer. Even though I have my own perspective, the audience's interpretation always goes beyond my imagination and deeply moves me. This is the fascinating aspect of art, so I do not want to say too much.

“The Other Place" is my semester production at the Motion picture Department of Taiwan National University of Arts, and also my long-awaited second short film. I am delighted to have completed it.This is a slow-paced realistic short film that portrays the encounter of two young people. Their dialogue represents a certain aspect of Taiwan society at the moment. I hope you will enjoy it.
