The Copacabana steadicam shot from Goodfellas… the Dunkirk beach scene from Atonement… the Bobby Sands interrogation in Hunger… the whole of Russian Ark…Victoria...

What do these have in common? They were all made using just one shot.

One shot is dynamic, occasionally spectacular and even iconic, but above all it represents a great challenge for filmmakers.

That’s why three London-based film aficionados set up The One Shot Movie Competition in 2017.

A competition unlike any other, the competition is dedicated to short and feature films made using just one shot. This is the 67h year for the competition following hugely successful and well received competitions in previous editions. Our Awards night has been held at a number of venues around London, The Hackney Attic, The Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square and in 2022 The Charlotte Street Hotel. A sold out evening saw Behzad Moloud's Tomorrow After Yesterday crowned 2023's Best One Shot movie.
This year the films will be screened at a central London cinema at an evening that promises to show some of the most innovative and thought provoking shorts from around the world.

The One Shot Movie Competition was a great event to be part of! It was amazing watching our little project screened alongside some brilliant short films, and watch a really responsive crowd engage with our work. I know our cast and crew had a lovely time at the event. If you have a "one shot" film, I would not hesitate to enter it here...
