The Old Spanish Trail
Three old men set out to ride the Old Spanish Trail, a 1200 miles journey from Los Angeles to Santa Fe. The historical trade route was formed in 1829, when Mexicans packed blankets and other woven goods on mules in New Mexico before traveling over rugged terrain to Los Angeles to trade for horses and mules. This is the first time some one is riding the entire trail since 1849. A film to inspire us all to protect and preserve our natural landscape.

Benedicte SchoyenCountry: United States
Benedicte has years of experience as a professional dancer, choreographer and ballet teacher. After many years working with dance she is happy to have found another outlet to continue developing her craft in the arts, as a director, editor, writer and producer. In 2008 she produced a 40 min. film for children: The Music Box - A Dance Along Fairytale. She directed her first documentary film Roadtrip Niger, a journey with the Nomads in Niger, in 2016, and The Old Spanish Trail in 2018.
I hope The Old Spanish Trail film will inspire people to get out and explore our natural landscape and remind us all how important it is to protect and preserve the nature for future generations to come.
