The Old Gay and the Sea is an experimental short using a collage of clips, some of which are sped up or slowed down, to present a visual narrative. The result is a kind of writer's self-portrait. Footage of myself during a writing retreat by the ocean, not writing, parallel to footage of the ocean and how I relate to it, and how through it I relate to Hemingway. The self-portrait creates its own queer interpretation of what The Old Man And The Sea means.
