I was born in Póvoa de Varzim a small fishing town in the North of Portugal. I am very passionate about human behaviour and not less about any sort of poetic encounters in life.
The documentary La Grande Famille (2017) was my first feature film as a director. In 2021, I wrote and directed The Octopus Man, a short film.
This project had a short deadline, it was part of the final work of a film course. It took a combination of factors, such as the weather, the sea, the tides and the moon. And, when we needed to move forward, start filming, the character disappeared. So, from then on, adapting the script while filming was a bit like navigating on a foggy sea, making instinctive decisions and enjoying the consequences. A powerful experience of freedom.
