The North Face Presents: Trango

Renowned skiers Christina Lusti and Jim Morrison, together with their team, embark on the first-ever ski descent of the formidable Great Trango Tower. They navigate risk, grapple with grief, and face physical danger as they push the limits of human experience. At 6,000 meters, constant exposure tests their resolve, but it’s the unspoken trust and support within their expedition team that allows them to face the unimaginable together.

Director Biography - Leo Hoorn

Born and raised in Smithers, BC, Leo Hoorn’s youth was skateboarding and snowboarding. He began experimenting with filmmaking promptly after. Leo's friends in the industry led him to Whistler where he was quickly discovered by Sherpas Cinema.

As an Editor, Cinematographer and Director of Photography with the Sherpas, Leo has contributed to projects filmed in remote locations such as “All I Can”, “The Great Siberian Traverse”, “Tsirku”, “Loved by All”, and most recently, “Children of the Columbia”.

In contrast to the aforementioned projects, Leo has worked on international commercial shoots in the streets of L.A., Tokyo, Sao Paulo and Beirut with world-class brands. These ventures have aided in developing a vast arsenal of shooting tools and backcountry skills for Leo to bring to any setting.

Leo strives to produce powerful images that pack an emotional punch through landscape photography and portraiture throughout his personal, commercial and creative work. His intention is to continue to challenge himself in his everyday practise and continually experiment with lighting and shooting techniques.
