The New Moon
Finding a leisure time among daily life and its distresses is almost imposible in today's world and these worries even attack the one who takes his nook as shelter.
Borzu chooses Maha Shivratri night as an opportunity to meditate and to be alone by himself, away from the busyness of life; but every single person, circumstances, and events arround him seem to have agreed to somehow disturb this solitude.
"New Moon" was made in September 2022, and all that happened from that date up to now in Iran prevented the director from broadcasting this work.
The concept of this film is actually the suppressed anger of an artist who finally decided to return to the outside world; just as the main character of the film who returned with a smile in last shot of the film to achieve what he wanted from MahaShivaratri in the heart of the very community who seemed to interrupt him.

The mission of an artist is to adopt his/her mentality with the realities arround him and eventually define it in an art work form. The present surronding events along with geographical and political constraints made me (Ahmad Erfani) to detach myself from the fantasy atmosphere that I had in my previous two films; and to narrate the suffocation caused by the obstacles in the way of artists arround me with the seasoning of my interest in Eastern philosophy in the form of "New Moon" ; and to depicit my hope for salvation in the last plan.
However the low-bodget and critical production approach is still evident in this work, and the political and economic limitations are also conspicuous in the form of the work.
