Having studied the early pioneers of cinema, I reference some of the most influential shorts films – The Cabbage-Patch Fairy (1900), dir. Alice Guy; The Big Swallow (1901), dir. James Williamson; The Living Playing Cards (1905), dir. Georges Méliès; The Irresistible Piano (1907), dir. Alice Guy – in my homage, The Musical Magician (2021).
