Director Biography - Mathieu Libman

Mathieu Libman is an animation filmmaker who has worked for Netflix Animation, JibJab Bros. Studios, Chiodo Bros. Productions and more. His last film, Pinky Toe, was a finalist in the Student Academy Awards, Cartoon Brew Pick of the Day, and Vimeo Staff Pick. He also directed a segment on season 3 of Ask the StoryBots on Netflix that premiered in August 2019.

His new film, The Moon's Not That Great, has been in production for over a year. It is his largest project to date. Mathieu aims to make films with innovative design, quirky and insightful storytelling, and some magic. Enjoy the show!

Director Statement

Filmmaker Mathieu Libman’s new short, The Moon’s Not That Great, is a 2D animated film completed after over a year in production. The 23-year old filmmaker began the short during his final year studying animation at CalArts, and it is his first film since graduating. We hope you enjoy The Moon’s Not That Great!
