The Misadventures of Mistress Maneater

A romantic action comedy with important social overtones...Failed art historian PhD candidate and reluctant dominatrix Ava Moriarty wants OUT of the business. She invested in an enormous real estate project that could easily net her millions, and borrowed most of the money from her very iffy boyfriend. But the deal goes awry and Ava must look at all options to get her now-lost money back. But the Universe conspires against her, and she must navigate a world where nothing is nothing as it seems. In the end, an unlikely man (an episcopal priest with his own dark secrets) becomes her personal and professional salvation.

Director Biography - C.J. Julianus

C.J. Julianus is a long-time director and producer of live theater throughout the Chicago area, and along with his wife, muse, and partner-in-crime, Lorrisa Julianus, established Binary Star Pictures, LLC in 2018. Their first effort, the romantic action comedy, "The Misadventures of Mistress Maneater" is currently in post-production and will be released in early 2020. C.J. began his career in the entertainment business while in the U.S. Navy, having been discovered by a casting director while stationed in Miami, FL in the mid-1980s. From there, he began appearing in commercials, on television, and in print. Upon his return to the Chicago area, he re-started his theatrical career, performing with a variety of companies. The culmination of his theater work was when he established Theatre-on-the-Hill in Bolingbrook, Illinois as a premium destination for actors who wanted to perform in rarely staged productions, such as Stephen Adly Guirgis' "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot" and "Den of Thieves", "A Flea in Her Ear!", "God of Carnage", "End Days", and the world premiere of the musical "Zenobia", written by Lorrisa Julianus. During his tenure as President and Artistic Director at Theatre-on-the-Hill, he wrote, produced, and directed numerous corporate videos and movie shorts, skills that have translated directly to producing and directing features. Binary Star Pictures, LLC will be shooting feature films on a yearly basis.
