Kristen Brown is a Montreal-based director and director of photography working in documentary, fiction, and experimental cinema. Blending the realism of documentary with the stylization and craft of fiction film, her work shows a candid yet authentic vision of the world, whether it be in unscripted or in fictionalized narratives. Kristen was chosen as one of the FCTMN’s emerging directors in 2020 and was the Director of Photography on the Hot Docs 2022 Audience Choice award-winning documentary Dad Can Dance. Kristen also recently worked as Director of Photography and did additional directing on Gespe’gewa’gi: the Last Land, a documentary TV series screening on APTN and CBC gem.
