All Proceeds from Submissions and Attendance are given away as cash prizes!

The Mid (yes we know) is a Maryland based International Film Festival celebrating creative works from all walks of life. Our mission is to give back to creators not only through an amazing experience inside the Todd Performing Arts Center, but also by giving away multiple cash prizes in numerous categories.

Our Festival is a day long event on the Campus of Chesapeake College filled with screenings, networking, vendors, food, drink specials and fun. Our only hope is to create an event that all creators and fans would love to enjoy.

While movies will be shown all day in both theaters, The Mid culminates with an evening LIVE Show from the Todd Performing Arts Center Main Stage where we will show all the films nominated for awards once again and give away prizes.

Our sister event "The Island of Horror Film Fest" has given away over $1,000 in years past and we hope to bring that same type of success to "The Mid".

The Best In Show - Cash Prize - The Best overall submission from all Categories - Selected by a jury of 5 TV/Film Producers.

Best of Categories - Cash Prize - We Award the top 3 films in each category (Drama, Comedy/Rom-Com, Documentary, Action/Adventure/Thriller, Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror) - Determined by Judges.

The MID! - Cash Prize - Awarded to the film that's average score (of all categories) from our judges places them exactly in the middle.

AUDIENCE PRIZE - Cash Prize (Determined by tickets) - Determined by a jury of your peers, everyone who buys a ticket gets to vote.

STUDENT FILM PRIZE - Cash Prize (Determined by Submissions) - Selected by the Peake Players (Theater Department) of Chesapeake College.

SUPERLATIVE PRIZES - Small Cash Prize. These are additional awards submitters can win. (Best Actress, Actor, Directing, Cinematography, Editing, and many more.)

Rules & Terms

1. Understand that the submission fee does not guarantee your project a place in the festival. Entries are judged by a panel who make the decisions of Official Selections, Finalists, and Grand Prize winners. The judges decisions are final and may not be disputed.

2. All entries must be sent digitally. If selected , it is the responsibility of the film maker to deliver a downloadable version of the film to be screened at the event. Please do not send DVDs, BluRays, images, photographs, we will not consider them for submission or screening.

3. Grand Prize(s) money will be determined after FilmFreeway takes its necessary fees. The award may be delivered through PayPal after the event has concluded.

4. You DO NOT have to be present to win a Grand Prize. We hope to gain many submissions from around the world. Everyone will have a fair shot to win.

5. All films must be screened in English or have English Subtitles.

6. All Official Selections will be asked to submit promotional materials they have available such as film poster, trailer, still photos, website or social media links, etc... Film entries that do not have suitable trailers prepared consent to allowing QACTV to use a clip from their film for promotional purposes.

7. Entry fees are non-refundable unless they are covered by the submission protection option, according to the FilmFreeway terms.

8. The submitter must own the rights to the film or short being submitted.
