Director Statement

The Metaverse & Me reflects my value basis. TMAM is telling us stories of relationships through art and technology. Relationships in my family, the space we occupy and within society. The creation of the show is bookended by my parents passing - my father in 2016 - when I stopped painting and started my XR company and my mother in 2023 as we worked on this show. We explore themes of life, death, gender, race, consumerism and social media. In R U Ok? the viewer is the human content where 90% of the world's data was generated in the last two years alone and 2.5 quintillion bytes of data are created daily. TMAM is about social change with 10 pieces of physical artworks, utilising augmented reality in 2 and 3D digital animations, each with a unique soundtrack. We fuse technology with human presence and the 3 elements of physical, digital and music work seamlessly together. Culture generates social capital and strengthens a community's character. We want this experience to bring people together to see, hear and feel shared stories that inspire reflection and form connections to transcend differences.
