Director Biography - Kieran Scott Fitzgerald

As a young child, I was a fan of Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, because of the crude and sarcastic humor, the hand drawn artwork, and graphic style. The cartoons that were made with traditional 2D cell or digital cell animation were the ones I watched the most, such as SpongeBob, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd’n Eddy and Chowder. I was drawn to the early animation style paired with its quirky storylines and random settings, which created a colorful escape for an elementary school kid. These cartoons inspired me to generate vivid characters and storylines of my own around the age of 6. I started creating wacky characters going on humorous adventures full of silly antics. In 2008, I was originally inspired to hand-draw them on paper comic books where I completed a full compilation of them that I shared with my family and friends. The characters took further shape and expanded when I joined College of DuPage in 2020.
