The Melancholy We Weave: Book 1
The Melancholy We Weave is a horror anthology project using Quietus, a tragic horror game for up to two players and a storyteller. Each chapter will follow different pairs of characters with backstories dripping in grief and heartache. They are actively trying to push past their traumas while utilizing scars within their own psyche to combat a horror that pursues them.
These aren't stories about heroes or overcoming some great evil with the power of will.
This will be about broken and hurting individuals clawing out of the depths of an unknown nightmare by the skin of their teeth. Will hope tease out of their grasps or will they be able to allude dread before it consumes them?

Loss changes us. Some for the better and some for the worse. Regardless of what path we take during that fragile time, it is a journey that every single last one of us, at some point in our lives, will have to take.
It is beautiful, chaotic, unruly,... and devastatingly horrifying at times. I feel like true horror is taking a good long look at yourself and realizing what type of person you are when the worst-case scenario happens. I wanted to dive into that sort of ‘what if’ and add a flair of the unknown for good measure.
