Lula Oliveira is a journalist and filmmaker.
Founding partner of DocDoma Films.
During the 1990s, produced a variety of independent short films (Morrão!, O Tocador de Ilusões, Perto do Fogo, Meninos Ambulantes, and A Fronteira do Invisível).
Worked as Assistant Director in the films Três Histórias da Bahia (by Sérgio Machado, Araripe Junior, and Edyala Yglésias), Eu me Lembro (by Edgar Navarro), Jardim das Folhas Sagradas (by Pola Ribeiro), and Cidade das Mulheres (by Lázaro Faria).
Wrote and directed Horizonte Vertical (Best Fiction Film award at the 28th International Film Journey of Bahia 2001).
Wrote and directed Na Terra do Sol (Best Short Film BNB Film Award at the 33rd International Film Journey of Bahia 2006).
Executive Producer of the feature film documentary Cuíca de Santo Amaro – Ele, o Tal (2010).
Executive Producer of the short films Cães (2009) and Premonição (2009).
Wrote and directed the documentary O Quilombo do Iguape: Uma Estória de Vida, de Terra e de Direitos (official selection in the Festival Terra de Tutti Film Festival - Bolonha/Firenze, 2018).
