The Masked Man film is dedicated to the outsider artists and artisans of Appalachia, an area filled with hillbilly stereotypes and largely ignored by the rest of the world. Mike Miller, a self-taught photographer is just one of hundreds of unsung heroes who create art because they are compelled by some creative drive within them that has nothing to do with contemporary trends. My film pays homage to those who make art for art's sake—a rare breed in today's selfie-culture.
