Experiencing Interruptions?

The Lovers

This is a surrealist noir film about two lovers having a fight. The beginning is of one the lovers remembering the fight in a bathroom, but the imagery is blurry to emphasize the haze of communication they both are experiencing as neither is understanding the other in this argument. As the film progresses the cinematography as well as the argument becomes increasingly distorted where you can’t tell who is who anymore and the couple becomes strangled by their words as they enmesh themselves deeper and deeper into the chaos of their anger until the argument is so muffled that neither can recall what they were fighting about. The ending scene is a simple scene of the two love interests reconciling and expressing their love for one another.

Director Statement

my current work represents my questions and experiences in connection through textile media and cinematic body work. I explore thoughts of connection becoming love, where pain threads through, how distortion is inherit to our nature, how hierarchy defines our choices on who to fear and who to love. I aim for exploration in my internal curiosity. I want those mistakes to be witnessed not hidden.
