Born in 1990 in Irvington, New Jersey, Amir Harris grew up in Richmond, VA after living in various locations as a kid. Harris after one year at Virginia State University, moved to the DMV area which Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia - where he currently resides. Since he was a kid, Harris has always had an interest in film, history and writing.
After being in the DMV area for 12 years, completing his college education and working in the security field - at age 30, Harris decided to make his first film along with long time friend and collaborator Will Simmons.
Harris and Simmons plan on making and producing films of their own and other black films in each genre while focusing on a realism style of filmmaking and delivering societal messages.
Some of Harris' favorite films include: Heat, Black Panther, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Malcolm X, Judas and The Black Messiah, Love Jones, 8 Mile, 12 Years a Slave. Rounders. The Godfather.
